C2EA at USCA!

Organizers and advocates from the Campaign to End AIDS will be out in force at this week's U.S. Conference on AIDS in Palm Springs, California — join us!

We'll be staffing a booth, running a roundtable session on community organizing, helping to organize a response to the AIDS crisis in Puerto Rico, and facilitating a town-hall meeting on the next generation of HIV care and treatment legislation for the United States. It's all part of our work to build local leadership and develop the political will that can end AIDS in our lifetime.

C2EA activists are proud to have the support of the National Minority AIDS Council and the opportunity to join with hundreds of like-minded souls at this year's USCA.

Roundtable Session Thursday Afternoon

C2EA is helping PLWHAs organize new branches of the AIDS activist movement all around the U.S. (shout-out to new organizers in Alaska and Hawaii) and around the world (shout-out to South Africa and Puerto Rico!).

"New Ryan White" Town Hall Meeting Thursday Evening

C2EA and the National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA) have teamed up for a cross-country series of town hall meetings to bring together PLWHAs, advocates, service providers and policy wonks to discuss the gaps and access problems in our current crazy-quilt HIV care system and ways they might be overcome with new legislative and funding initiatives.

The "Creating New Ryan White Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Care and Services Legislation" is led by people living with HIV/AIDS who rely on publicly-funded HIV services — they're the ones who should be influencing the shape of new Ryan White legislation. Top-level Congressional and executive staff have taken part in previous "New Ryan White" town halls, and they'll be in the room in Palm Springs Thursday night for the speak-out/teach-in/brain-storm that makes these sessions so valuable — you should be there too!

The AIDS Crisis in Puerto Rico

Our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico are living — and dying — in the middle of an AIDS crisis. Last February AIDS activists, advocates and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus asked for "prompt and decisive action" on the Puerto Rico AIDS crisis from HHS Secretary Leavitt — but nothing has happened.

Now it's time for our communities to come together for common actions to demand action that will save lives. C2EA, NMAC, the Latino Commission on AIDS, UDCAS Puerto Rico and the Prevention Justice Mobilization are working together to respond — find out more at two sessions on the collapse of the Puerto Rico HIV care system on Friday.

Workshop on the Collapse of the HIV/AIDS Healthcare Delivery System in Puerto Rico Friday 1:45 PM with after-session on organizing a response at 4PM.

Thanks for taking action — see you in California!
