    Barbara Boxer is a three-term incumbent and very popular in the state. Her Republican opponent is most likely Carly Fiorina, who was heralded when she became the first woman to run a big computer company (Hewlett Packard) and then heralded again when she was the first CEO of either gender to be fired from a big computer company for incompetence. However, Chuck DeVore from the Tea Party and millionaire and frequent candidate Tom Campbell in a primary. If they split the right-wing vote, she will probably make it past them.
