Imagine if the US could raise hundreds of billions not from ordinary people like us, but from those who can most afford it…

The science on HIV has truly never been better—we have drugs that work and we now know more about how to truly stop the virus in its tracks than ever before. However, in the US the progress we have made is slipping. Infections in many of our communities are rising as people lack access to education and prevention tools. And the financial crisis is making it all much worse—budget cuts have put people on waiting lists for affordable AIDS medicines in dozens of states, safe and affordable housing which is proven to stop HIV is disappearing, and the economic inequality that fuels AIDS is getting worse.

The Robin Hood Tax could raise billions every year to make sure all children and adults have access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support services. Ultimately, a Robin Hood Tax could finance the end of AIDS.

A Robin Hood Tax is a tiny tax of less than ½ of 1% on Wall Street transactions that could generate hundreds of billions of dollars each year. This money could provide funding to kickstart the economy and get the United States back on its feet by creating jobs and strengthening public services like health care, housing, education and infrastructure at home while tackling AIDS, global health, poverty and climate challenges here and around the world.

Taking on the might of Wall Street won’t be easy, and we need your help. We don’t have millions if dollars, but we have millions of people. C2EA and Housing Works have endorsed the Robin Hood Tax Campaign, and today – the day of the official campaign launch – we ask you to get involved!
